Briana graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University in 2012 while pursuing a golf scholarship. She competed as a varsity athlete throughout her 4 years in the program and began teaching golf to children and adults during her summer breaks. As an athlete, Briana became familiar with golf related exercise prescription through the Titleist Performance Institute and now uses this as a tool when teaching and assessing swing mechanics.

Following her undergrad, Briana completed the Masters of Physical Therapy at Western in 2014. As a recent graduate, Briana brings in a new generation of knowledge to our team and is able to share up to date evidence based practices with her colleagues. Throughout her time at Western, Briana had the opportunity to work with one of the leading experts in Ontario dealing with concussion management and also spent time working with new born infants up to age 6 on motor development. As her last clinical placement, Briana studied abroad in Perth Australia and learned from teachers affiliated with Curtin University who are known for their strong background in manual therapy skills

Prior to university, Briana was an active member of the Barrie sports community as she participated as an athlete with the Barrie Royals Basketball Club, Barrie Elites Volleyball Club, Barrie Spirit Soccer Club, the Simcoe Tennis Academy and the Barrie Country Club. She has spent time coaching kids and adults of all ages in volleyball, soccer and golf and pursued a career in physiotherapy to put her coaching skills to good use. Briana’s treatment focus is on good mobility and proper movement patterns in order to optimize performance.

Education is a big part of her treatment approach as she believes all patients should learn how to perform basic maintenance on themselves in order to live long, healthy lives. Other post graduate education includes Level 1 Manual Therapy, an acupuncture certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, the Select Functional Movement Assessment Level 1 and holds a certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. As a high school graduate of Nouvelle-Alliance, Briana is fully bilingual and capable of offering services in French and English.
